Extra Medium is more than just your typical DJ from the U.K, with a moustache that can be groomed from ear to ear. He has an incredible talent for upcycling 1920’s to 1950’s classics into bass heavy electro swing. And for the last year Extra Medium has produced music in his own ‘extra’vert style, creating quite the rapport amongst talented musicians and DJ’s alike. In the later part of this year Extra Medium is releasing a toe tapping, head bopping and finger snapping debut album “One Size Fits All” and album that is sure to set the tone for the rest of his musical career. As for the rest of Extra Medium’s career, be sure to watch this space as he shall be developing his own live performances in the near future so things will only go from Extra Medium to Extra Large!

Kiss Me Yesterday – Downtown Stoned EP &Video release
The viennese electro swing Trio Kiss Me Yesterday released their EP “Downtown Stoned” on 10.1.2014 on Billybong Records. It’s out in the stores now!
This release includes beneath the original and the clubversion four remixes done by Incontrol, The Swingbot, Lord Justice and Extra Medium – but that’s not all!!!
The band released also a very cool and professional produced video clip for this track!

Finally the Compilation was released on 11.10.2013 exclusivly on bandcamp.com. All other stores will follow on 11.11.13!

Here it is: The first straight Electro Swing – compilation from Austria, selected by two of Vienna´s finest Electro Swing DJs Cab Canavaral and Tony Maroni, known for their Live-DJ-project: The Swing Towers. Tony, a shown expert for great mixing techniques and superfast mash-up gigs and Cab, is not only decorated for his sax-hits-the-dancefloor-gigs, but is also part of Austria´s No.1 authentic swing band “5 in love” and label boss of Billybong records. Together, the two ElectroSwing-enthusiastics also managed to collect Electro Swing tunes from all over the world.
Surprisingly most of the songs on “Swing It!” are based on clear and proper House and Techno Beats. Compared with other compilations like Bart and Baker´s Electro Swing I-V or the consistent vocals-based on the Electro Swing Revolution-series the selection is quite a straight mingle-mangle of known and soon-to-be-famous Swing House representatives and based on around 125 bpm-producing artists. Only at the beginning will you find marked SwingHop such as Dunkelbunt´s “Augen zu und durch”, one of the first SwingHop tracks in German, the NeoSwing version of Bart & Baker´s magnificent “Big Band” or bassy-swinging tunes by the highly skilled Jenova Collective from the UK. The rest of the 26 songs which makes up the sampler are almost exclusively an entire 4-to-the-floor-bash.
For Cab Canavaral this was not necessarily a conscious step: ”It was not planned to have so many housy tracks on the compilation, but it definitely reflects the sound of our “Swing It!”-Events in Vienna.”
Nevertheless the choise is very diverse. Some of the contributions are characterised by vocals in classic verse-refrains structures, some of them are instrumental, while other artists experimented with dub-based or bassy elements. The selection is very consistent and seems well-grounded, but was mainly the artist´s choice, according to Cab: ”Many of the producers, with whom we stood in close contact with, decided themselves, what tracks they wanted to make available. We were surprised that almost every artist we requested for a track agreed to be a part of the project.”
Next to hits of best known genre-giants like Jamie Berry, Skeewiff or Bart & Baker, you will discover many undiscovered gems in the Electro Swing community like the highly active Andrea Fissore with his impelling “My summer vacation”. Noteworthy are the contributions of donJohnston, Natanael Megersa or Incontrol, in addition to the many other high-quality productions.
Fortunately and thanks to the mastering skills of Yossi and Ron, both part of the Israelian project “Segment”, which also appears on the album, most of the productions on the compilation are flawless and on a high technical level.
There will most definitely be a second edition next year, hopefully with even more artists from the flourishing Austrian Electro Swing Community.

At the moment we are working under high pressure on our next release: “SWING IT!!! Finest Eletro Swing vol.1” is scheduled for release on October 11th.
This is a huge collection of 26 Tracks from all over the world! Electroswing is a genre with a great diversity. The producers are coming from different corners of the musical universe like, Techno, House, Minimal, Funk, Hip Hop, Drum&Bass, Dub – just to name a few.
But all of them feel a special love for Swing! The tracks were selected by Cab Canavaral and Tony Maroni. A part of the big names like Bart & Baker, Skeewiff, Grant Lazlo and [dunkelbunt] who are already well known in the scene, there are many brilliant tracks to discover, you might have never heard about before.
Many of them haven’t been released yet. We are happy to make them available for download worldwide.
We celebrate this release on October 11th with a big party in Vienna with Don Johnston feat. Leo Wood, [dunkelbunt], Kiss Me Yesterday, Ticket 2T Universe and “The Swing Towers” (www.swing-it.info)

We are proud and happy to release the debut of the Vienna based group KISS ME YESTERDAY called “Swing Affair”.
Here’s a short description:
Once upon a time DJ and electronic artist Paul bumped into two female jazz players. Since that day the stone for KISS ME YESTERDAY was laid and their story is blossoming and evolving.
Paul, with his fancy creative base, plays the funky beats with attention to fine details. Together with Hela’s soft and incisive voice and the lively, virtuoso play with Lisa on her soprano and alto saxophone, the electro swing band created their own, individual sound. Kiss Me Yesterday, who only play live in concerts perform boasting sets with pumping beats alongside swingingly samples, romantic grooves and sweet breaks. Their self-produced tracks leave room for improvisation and allow the audience space to be abso-swingingly free.
Kiss Me Yesterday’s first EP “Swing Affair” perfectly shows their versatile styles and colours. Inspired by both swing and electronic masters, Paul, Hela and Lisa combine their individual stories and music styles into one unique sound experience. Kiss Me Yestereday represents the fusion of a deep love for old skool styles integrated with the moves of the present. Time to shake and swing, honeys!

Stereo Swing EP
We proudly welcome a new electroswing project from Hungary on board of Billybong Records!
Stereo Swing is a hungarian electro swing project produced by Big Swing Lou. Lou is a very experienced musician who has hit the drums in many bands playing swing, jump blues and rhythm & blues. Beyond that he started to produce his own music in the studio and became an important member of the hungarian electro swing movement.
The previews of his first two tracks „Steppin’ Out” and „Champagne Swing” raised an enormous positive feedback in the international electro swing scene.
The featured singer Gabi Szűcs is a wellknown hungarian jazz singer. She was a founding member of the Cotton Club Singers and part of the band for 14 years. They have won many awards, like the Emerton price of the hungarian radio in the category jazz band of the year.
The first EP “Stepping Out” will be available in all important download stores soon (19.5.2013).

Cab Canavaral on Buona Sera Signorina
on 3rd March The compilation “Buona Sera Signorina” was released by Green Queen Music.
Buonasera Signorina is the latest compilation release from Green Queen Music; Compiled and mixed by Feel Good Productions founder, international DJ and producer Pony Montana; it is a foot-tapping collection of eighteen club style, electro-swinging vintage-sound remixes and original tracks. It also contains a number of tracks created exclusively for the compilation such as Dr Cat’s remix of ‘Me and Mr Wolf’ as well as the title track ‘Buonasera Signorina’ by Pony Montana feat. The Swingrowers, amongst others … it’s electro-swing Jim but not as you know it!
We are happy and proud that “Ich bring Dich um die Ecke” a remix by Cab Canavaral is part of this album!

Austrian electro-swing label Billybong have roped in a host of artists to re-work a pair of tunes by sax-brandishing Viennese swing DJ Cab Canavaral. First Up, “I Dance Charleston”, is given a tough, peak time makeover by Vassili Gemini, a more fizzy minimal going over by Sound Nomaden and a live-sounding rework by Discotizer. “Why Don’t You Do Right” is restyled as a sultry, low slung bass groove, and turned into a 40’s stripper’s racy backing track by Skeewiff, dubstep sternly takes hold in the Il Leprotto mix, while it becomes slick 2step in the hands of F3edo.
